SUMMARY

We are looking for a Bookkeeping Assistant to supervise, track and evaluate day-to-day financial activitiesThis Bookkeeping Assistant would be responsible for managing the financial status of POW Social by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting information. We are also looking for someone to work closely with our management team to evaluate invoicing of clients, monitoring of monthly online advertising expenditure and creating frequent monthly reports.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including:
    • month and year-end process
    • accounts payable/receivable
    • cash/cheque receipts
    • general ledger
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits of data
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
  • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven working experience as  a Bookkeeper, Accounting Assistant or Accounting Supervisor
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office, accounting software (such as Intuit’s QuickBooks) and databases
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to direct and supervise
